How they work
Mosquito nets are a fiberglass or polyester mesh with microscopic openings that stop mosquitoes, bees and flies. Three types: **Fixed** — a frame that clips onto the window (removed in autumn, reinstalled in spring). **Roll-up** — mesh wound into an aluminium cassette, pulled out only when needed (ideal for frequent in-out traffic). **Pleated** — concertina-style for wide openings (balcony doors, terraces). All made to the exact opening dimensions.
When to choose
Mosquito nets are a must in North Macedonia where summer evenings mean open windows. We recommend **fixed** for bedrooms and rarely-opened windows. **Roll-up** for balcony doors, kitchen doors and spots where you go in and out often. **Pleated** for wide terrace doors or French windows where roll-ups aren't practical.
What the price depends on
Insect screens are priced per square metre, and the type matters most: fixed screens are the most affordable, while roll-up and pleated variants cost more because of the mechanism. Height, width, frame colour (white/cream/anthracite) and mesh type (standard or pet-resistant for homes with cats/dogs) also count. The price includes on-site measurement and installation.
Frequently asked questions
How long do mosquito nets last?
The aluminium frame doesn't rust and lasts decades. The mesh, with proper maintenance (spring rinsing with water), lasts 8-10 years before replacement. With pet-resistant mesh — even longer.
Does the mesh reduce visibility?
Only minimally — the standard mesh has extra density but isn't obvious from a distance. There's also ultra-fine mesh that's almost invisible from 1-2 m away.
Can they be installed on old windows?
Yes. We adapt to the exact dimensions of every window, regardless of age. For old wooden frames we use special clips that don't damage the frame.
How much do insect screens cost?
The price of insect screens (komarnici) depends on the type (fixed, roller or pleated), the size, the frame colour and the mesh type (standard or pet-resistant). Fixed screens are the most affordable. Measuring and installation are included.
Where do you deliver and install insect screens?
We make and install made-to-measure insect screens in Skopje, Bitola, Prilep, Tetovo, Kumanovo and all 15 major cities in North Macedonia.
