How they work
Wooden venetian blinds have horizontal slats of natural wood (basswood, bamboo or faux-wood PVC) connected by fabric ladders. Two controls work in parallel: one rotates the slats for light (closed → dark, partial → diffuse, open → bright), the other lifts all slats up into a compact stack. Standard slat widths: 25, 35, 50 or 70 mm — wider slats for larger windows.

What the price depends on
Wooden venetians are priced per square metre, and the material matters first: PVC versions (wood imitation) cost less than natural wood (basswood). Slat width (narrower slats = more slats = more expensive), colour (6 standard tones or custom staining) and ladder type (standard or decorative) also count. Price includes measurement, manufacturing and installation.
Frequently asked questions
Wooden slats or faux-wood PVC — which is better?
Natural wood is more beautiful visually and warmer, but heavier (more strain on the headrail). PVC is cheaper, more moisture-resistant and lighter — but the visual effect is slightly less natural.
Does the wood need care?
Once a year — light vacuuming or wiping with a dry cotton cloth. To maintain the sheen, every 2-3 years a light treatment with beeswax (for natural wood).
How long do they last?
Natural wood lasts 15-20 years under normal conditions; PVC up to 25 years. Fabric ladders are recommended to be replaced every 8-10 years — that's the only recurring expense.
