Measuring steps
- 1Get a steel tape, paper and a pencil (measure in centimetres).
- 2Decide the mount type: inside the window frame or over the frame/wall.
- 3Measure the width at three points — top, middle and bottom.
- 4For an inside mount take the smallest width; for over the frame add 5–10 cm on each side.
- 5Measure the height at three points — left, middle and right; take the largest.
- 6Always record as Width × Height and note left/right if the window isn't rectangular.
Tips and common mistakes
- For full blackout, always measure over the frame, not inside.
- For zebra and roller, the minimum calculation is 1.5 × 1.5 m.
- For pleated on attic/sloped windows, measure on the glass — we recommend a template.
- Don't measure over existing curtains or brackets — remove them first.
