When should I choose Silhouette blinds?
Silhouette blinds are a premium choice for luxury living rooms, entry halls, restaurants and hotel lobbies where you want a 'sunset diffused light' effect. Ideal for rooms with abundant natural light where standard blinds would be mostly closed or mostly open. Not recommended for bedrooms (no full blackout) or windows with frequent children's use (less resistant to pulling).

How they work
A silhouette blind has 3D fabric vanes suspended between two layers of sheer fabric. With a chain or motor, the vanes rotate — open they let light filter through the diffuse sheer; closed they block view and light. When the vanes are fully rotated, you get a soft-toned blind effect; when turned sideways, the sheer pulls up into the cassette. Originally designed by Hunter Douglas, we work with compatible systems.

What the price depends on
Silhouette blinds are priced per square metre and sit above most other types because of the complexity of the 3D vanes. The price depends on vane width (50, 75 or 100 mm), sheer colour and tone, and mechanism type (manual or motorised). Minimum 1.5 m². Price includes on-site measurement, manufacturing and installation.
Frequently asked questions
Do they provide full privacy?
When the vanes are fully closed, they provide good daytime privacy (silhouettes aren't visible from outside) but they're not blackout — for full blackout choose roller blackout or a Roller+Silhouette combination.
How are they maintained?
Only with antistatic dust cloth. Soaking or wet cleaning isn't recommended — the delicate sheer can deform. For stains use dry chemical cleaner tablets.
Can it be mounted over an existing curtain rod?
No — the silhouette system has its own cassette and isn't compatible with classic curtain rods. If you want a double layer, we manufacture a custom shared mounting system.
